Game review for The Last Village

The Last Village is a story of an Indian Apache tribe who are defending their last village from the invasion of white people and other Indians. The Apache chief is always accompanied by 4 bodyguards wherever he goes and 4 commanders stay with him defending the village. The village has a medical plant which make the troops of this last Apache tribe have magic power and hardly defeated. But unfortunately this plant is rarely bearing fruit and the magic power is only last for one day.

Try to survive 75 days!

How to play The Last Village?

Set up a strategy to develop agriculture, handle transactions of agribusiness, trade for guns, train the troops, and send commanders and troops to the battle against the attackers.

See in-game controls.

FAQ
1) Why can’t I re-use the indians that have passed all the way through the battlefield?
=> Because they “die for gold”!

2) How to get the magical flowers?
=> Go to the “strategy” tab, select the wizard KACHADA (white hair man) and click on the map to go to the magic flower, and finally click on “execute”.
ONLY the wizard can pick up the magic flowers and prepare potions…

3) There is only little GOLD…
=> Use the market to trade goods!

Walkthrough, cheats, hints and tips

Strategy Guide

Day 1: Build farms for food, mines for ore, and sawmills for wood.  Also markets, for trading. Upgrade or buy new mines/mills/farms.

Day 2: Start prep for 1st battle. Move chiefs to correct square, then execute. You can only execute 1 move per day. Continue to build up food/ore supplies (you should be getting more wood than food/ore). Try and keep all 3 fairly balanced for daily intake.

1st battle
: Make sure to buy units, then click on the battlefield to place them. Don't forget about your special abilities. And the more chiefs you have in a battle, the easier it is.

Use the market if you start getting too much of 1 resource and not enough of another. Make sure to take advantage of fair trading from the town center.

Increasing food production from a farm is cheapest way to go.

Don't let your army get across the screen too quickly, or you'll lose them for the end of the battle, although you will get extra gold out of it.

Pay attention to your weapons supply and army. They are your people! Buy more or train more when needed.

As you continue, you'll start to have to manage multiple battles getting ready to happen on the same day, or within a day. So map the location of your troops carefully. Make sure to note that 3 of your 5 chiefs can get from any 1 battle to another in 2 days, 1 in 4, and 1 in 1 day for 2/3 and 2 days for the other location.

Day 20: You should be earning somewhere around +800food, +750iron, +900wood by now.  If your numbers are much lower, I'd recommend restarting. You need to build resources early, so that you can have plenty of gold/resources for the end-game.  Your primary source of gold will be from battles and the market, so upgrade efficiency of these in the town center.

Take advantage of the resource/gold upgrades in the town square. They will increase your in-take by 10% of base per upgrade.

You get your best returns from selling iron, so try to mine as much as possible.

Upgrading your military through the town center and temple is crucial to surviving, saving the lives of your troops, and getting gold from battles.

End game: Once you reach day 30+, the rest of the game is fairly straight forward: upgrade your towers, make sure you have enough troops, upgrade defenses.  When you get fully upgraded, you'll only need 1 chief per battle to win.

Great game, after running through it a few times though I have to disagree with some of the strategies others have mentioned. Putting all you generals in the village center is not the best way to go. You can last through most of the game that way, but you'll likely end with severe population issues and you will certainly need to rebuild your market and weapons dealer multiple times. I've found that picking two squares directly around the village center and putting two captains on each, (preferably one ranged and one melee) makes the most sense. The squares around your village center can all support tepees, barracks and defense towers and the North and South squares are just one square away from the market and weapons dealer making them ideal locations to defend or launch counter attacks from.. Here are some things I've found. 1: For the first 10 turns, just concentrate on resources, no need for towers, barracks, tepees yet. Don't forget to build a market and get the resource related upgrades at the village center, having a market from turn one will make everything easier. In the following turns, build a blacksmith and barracks and start considering repopulating your army while still focussing mostly on resources. Build a Temple somtime after day 20 2: Enemies will raze mines and sawmills near the village but will ignore anyting on the edge of the map. Initially, you should ignore or only lightly upgrade mills or mines near the center of the map. 3. Resources are more important than gold。 Don't be afraid to use gold to buy resources to upgrade mines mills or farms. If you do well in your battles its very easy to end up with 100K+ gold that you won't even know what to do with by the end of the game, But no matter what you do you can never have too much wood iron or food. 4: In battle, try and put most of your troops in one or two lines on the field, this will maximize the number of troops that make it past enemy lines and thus the gold you get. (note rifleman/ spear is the best combo for this as the riflemen can hit enemies in any line amd spearmen have good attack and hp) 5: Don't be afraid to take the fight to the enemy to stop them from razing your buildings, Enemies can only move one space at a turn so its easy to rearrange your deployment. Troops from safe areas can be moved to protect threatened ones and troops in such threatened areas can directly make a raid on the enemy. This will save you resources and annoyance. 2 generals (1 ranged 1 melee) are usually enough to take out most raiding parties, don't forget to use their special abilities.Great game, after running through it a few times though I have to disagree with some of the strategies others have mentioned. there is no way to save it. After I logged out and logged in, I have to start over again. Yes, I like this strategy game. 1. Correct: have all your 4 or 5 commanders stay into the village. 2. Only the wizard comes out to pick up the flower. 3. Build resources at the far corners, because the enemy doesn't go there. 4.And upgrade your defense from time to time. Good luck and have funthere is no way to save it. After I logged out and logged in, I have to start over again.
